    SECTION - O - PLAYING RULES


    PLAYING RULES FOR ALL EVENTS

  1. All clubs affiliated with the T.&. N.O.C.A. and who are in good standing are eligible to compete in all Association events.

  2. T.&.N.O.C.A. competitors must be paid-up members of the club they are representing.
    In the case of Seniors and Mixed, the team may be composed of players from any club within the Association.
    In Senior Men's and Mixed Playdowns competition, at least two players of the team must be members of the Club they are representing.
    No player is eligible to compete in more then one club in any one event and, if a player is a member of two clubs, he can only compete out of one club (his choice)

  3. All teams wishing to compete for National events from any Club in the Association shall be eligible for Zone playdowns.

  4. .a For Seniors and Juniors competition, member clubs of the Association shall be assigned to one of four playing Zones.(Section "B")

    .b For Tankard competition, member clubs of the Association shall be assigned to one of five playing Zones. (page 11)

  5. The T.&.N.O.C.A. Championships will be determined as follows:

    - For Seniors and Juniors a double knockout will be played among the four Zones.
    A maximum of eight (8) teams will compete. (see Section K for playoff formats)
    Two winners will be declared who will represent the Association at the Provincial playdowns.

    - For Mixed a Bonspiel format competition will be used. Any team eligible by the rules of the Men's and Women's Association (i.e: the section of the home Club must be affiliated with both Associations) will be able to compete.
    Two winners will be declared who will represent the Association at the Provincial playdowns.

    - For Tankard play only, ten (10) teams will be declared from the Zone playdowns as follows:

    Two (2) Teams each from Zones 1 thru 5

    The playoff format for the Association Tankard championship will be a modified triple knockout with three teams advancing to the Provincial playdowns.

  6. All games will consist of ten ends. The skip of the losing team may concede the game at any time if he so wishes.

  7. To host the Association playdowns, the club must have facilities to accommodate the participants.

    The host club must have at least four sheets of ice with matched rocks.
  8. Rules governing play at the Association level will also apply to all competition at Zone level.

  9. C.C.A. eligibility and playdown rules will apply to all Association events unless otherwise written. SEE RESIDENCY RULE IN SECTION "C"

  10. The decision of the Officers of the Association shall be binding in all disputes.

  11. All competitors in the Junior Men's curling shall be under twenty (20) years of age December 31 st. of the year prior the National championship.

    A curler who is eligible by age to compete in Juniors as well as Tankard and/or Mixed is required to purchase a competior card and have paid full membership to their home Club when playing in Tankard and/or Mixed.

  13. All male participants in Tankard, Mixed and Senior Playdowns must have C.C.A. participant cards for all competition starting at Club level.

    All female participants in Mixed playdowns must have paid participant fees for Women's competition, or must have valid C.C.A. participant card as issued by the Men's Association.
