ASSOCIATION CHAIRMEN'S DUTIES
RESPONSIBILITIES
Each Association Chairman is the T.&.N.O.C.A. Representative in all curling matters in his jurisdiction.
The Association Chairman is the Playdown Chairman for any Association Playdowns held in the Association.
Where a club chairman is designated for a Playdown, the Association Chairman still assumes the responsibility and is accountable to the Association. (It is the intent that the Association Chairman who is knowledgeable of the Association's requirements ensures consistency in the hosting these Playdowns )
All the names of the competing teams in the Playdowns must be in the hands of the Association Chairman by 10:00 p.m. on the Monday prior to the Playdowns . This information will be submitted by the four (4) or five (5) Zone Chairmen.
Failure to submit the names on time may lead to the disqualification of the team(s) involved.
This decision will be up to the discretion of the Association Chairman and the Association Executive.
DUTIES
Ensures that each curling club in the Association is aware of the location and dates of the Association Playdowns.
Ensures that all competitors at the Association Playdowns have submitted the Zone competition fees.
Ensures that all competitors at the Association Playdowns have valid participant cards.
Holds an organization meeting with all competitors prior to the first draw of the Championship to convey all rules, grievances, courtesies and responsibilities.
Represents his jurisdiction at the annual meeting. If unable to attend, an alternate should be chosen to represent his office.
The allotment to Clubs hosting un-sponsored events will be submitted to the Club by the Secretary-Treasurer
Liaison closely with the host club, to ensure that the Playdowns are conducted on an equitable and organized basis and completed on time.
The Association Chairman of each event is responsible to submit the names, positions played and the addresses of all winning team members to the Secretary-Treasurer immediately after the completion of the Association Playdowns .
The Association Chairman is responsible to arrange for photographs to be taken of the winning team, should this be requested. This request will be made by the Host Committee of the Provincial Playdowns prior to the start of the Association Playdowns.
The Association Chairman shall present the winning teams of the Association Playdowns with the guidelines, expense report and a cheque for allotment for cost of travel and accommodations to the site of the Provincial Playdowns.
NOTE:
ALL REVENUES RECEIVED FROM ZONE FEES, COMPETITOR CARD FEES, THE CHALLENGE ROUND AND FROM PROVINCIAL TANKARD PLAYDOWN ASSESSMENT WILL BE COLLECTED IN A SEPARATE FUND AND THE ACTUAL TRAVEL ALLOTMENT FOR TEAMS WILL BE BASED ON THE REVENUE AVAILABLE IN THIS ACCOUNT TO THE MAXIMUM AS INDICATED BELOW:
As noted in Section F of the Rules and Quickfacts, the team's maximum allotment will be based on the distance from the team's home town to the site of the Provincial Playdowns and is to be calculated at $0.20 per kilometer - round trip. A per diem of $25.00 per player per day will be included in the amount of allotment. This is the Maximum amount of allotment for team travel. Teams are required to complete the expense report and return same to the Secretary-Treasurer upon their return from the Provincial Championship.
The Association Chairman is to prepare and present to the annual meeting of the
Association a complete report of all the activities during the past curling season.
A copy of this report must be submitted to the Secretary-Treasurer.

The format of the Playdowns is as noted in Section J of the Rules and Quickfacts
Rules of play for the Association Playdowns are as noted in Section O of the Rules and Quickfacts.
Eligibility of competing players is to be as noted in Section C of the Rules and Quickfacts.
