    SECTION - J - HOSTING ASSOCIATION PLAYDOWNS


    HOSTING OF ASSOCIATION PLAYDOWNS

    1.- For Association Playdowns, a minimum of four (4) sheets of ice are required.

    2.- For Seniors, Juniors and Mixed the exact number of entries will vary.
    The maximum number of entries for Tankard is 10 teams

    3.- The Seniors, Juniors and Mixed competition for all events will vary depending on the number of entries.

    * For Seniors, Juniors and Mixed, when the number of enties is six or less, a single round robin draw will be used. For seven or above entries, a double knock-out draw will be used.

    * For Tankard play only, our Association is to declare three teams to the Provincial playdowns. Playdown format K-10-3 will be used in the event that ten (10) teams are participating.

    4.- Practice time to be made available to the teams prior to each draw.

    5.- Prior to the first draw, all rules, grievances, courtesies and responsibilities will be conveyed to the competitors by the Association chairman or his delegate.

    6.- Host club is to provide umpires at all draws who will :
    - Be in complete charge once play begins
    - Be fully informed of rules and procedures of the Association
    - Be familiar with all the C.C.A. rules of play
    - Ensure that play is in accordance with all rules

    7.- All games will be 10 ends.

    8.- All Zone winners are responsible for transportation and accommodations to the site of the Association playdowns. However, if requested, the host club will arrange for hotel accommodations at reasonable rates for teams, executive members, delegates and visitors and rates made available as soon as possible.

    The host club must assure that accomodations are available during the playdowns.


    9.- Lunch bar facilities should be available to competitors at playdown site relevant to the curling schedules.

    10. The host committee is to provide a banquet for participants to be held during the competition.

    11.- If possible, a published draw and times schedule should be provided to all competing rinks, executive and delegates, with attached listings of team personnel.

    12.- Prior to the start of each game in the competition, the rocks shall be run as per the diagram shown on page 26. This shall be done immediately prior to the practice time.

    13.- For all playdowns, the Free Guard Zone Rules as outlined on page 25-B shall be followed.

    14.- Some funding for these playdowns are provided by: Labatt Breweries and Ford Motor Company.

    15.- The host committee is committed to providing product exclusivity and displaying corporate signage (provided) for all functions during this Championship.

    16.- In the event that a Club is not willing to commit to this provision, the Association Playdowns will be awarded to another Club in the hosting Zone.

    Championships, in accordance with the terms and conditions as outlined in Section "J" of the Association Rules and Quickfacts.

    Under the terms of this agreement, the HOST will provide exclusive product sale and signage to the sponsors as outlined in the attached schedule.
