SECTION - C - AFFILIATION
1.- A curling club is defined as an organization which has a membership of not less then
( 16 ) persons, has a constitution and office bearers which include, president, vice-president, secretary-treasurer and an executive.
Has ice facilities for their own use, the use of which is under the direction of said curling club.
Such a curling club shall be eligible to apply for membership in the T.&.N.O.C.A.
A club accepted by the executive of the Association shall appoint one director and one delegate to represent the club in the Association.
2.- The Association will set the per sheet assessment fees payable each year by affiliated clubs and the monies so received will be placed in a common fund to pay the authorized expenses of the Association and to promote Curling.

4.- Affiliated clubs shall remit their payment of the per sheet assessment fees to the Association by JANUARY 1st. of each year.
5.- Failure to pay the per sheet assessment fees could result in the defaulting club being ineligible for Zone or Association playdowns, at the discretion of the Officers of the Association
6.- A club two (2) years in arrears in payment of the per sheet assessment fees will be struck from the rolls of the Association and can only be re-instated by the Executive Committee.
7.- A person who is a member of more than one affiliated club can only participate in Zone or Association playdowns as a member of a team from one club. ( His choice )
e.g. only from one club at club level in each National event.
8.- (A) To be eligible for men's playdowns, all players must be members of the same curling club and each player must be 19 years of age or over on December 31 st. immediately prior to the year of the championship, or as covered by the C.C.A. rules.

(B) To be eligible for senior men's playdowns, all four players must be members of a curling club within the Association and each player must be 50 years of age or older on December 31 st. of the year immediately preceding the playdowns.
In Senior Men's Playdowns competition, at least two players of the team must be members of the Club they are representing. (See Residency Rule page 15.)
(C) To be eligible for mixed playdowns, each team must have two male players and two female players and the male and female players must play in alternate positions.
Each player must be a member of a curling club, but not necessarily of the same curling club and the club(s) must be properly affiliated with the T.&.N.O.C.A. and with the N.O.L.C.A.
In Mixed Playdowns competition, at least two players of the team must be members of the Club they are representing. (See Residency Rule page 14.)
Each player must be 19 years of age or over on December 31 st. of the year immediately prior the playdowns.
(D) To be eligible for the junior men's playdowns, all four players must be in attendance at the same school, or playing out of or sponsored by the same curling club.
Each player must be under twenty (20) years of age on December 31 st. of the year immediately preceding the playdowns. Each team must have a level 1 qualified coach . (See Residency Rule page 15.) When a team advances to National Playdowns, they must be accompanied by a level II coach.
(E) To be eligible for the Bantam boys playdowns, all four players must be in attendance at the same school, or playing out of or sponsored by the same curling club.
Each player must be under sixteen (16) years of age on December 31 st. of the year immediately preceding the playdowns.
Residency Rule (Revised Sept. 14, 1996)
1.-For all events leading to National Championships, players must be bonafide residents within the boundaries of the Association and must be paid members of the Club which they are representing before competition starts.
2.- In the case where residency or club membership is in question, a ruling shall be by a panel consisting of the Zone Chairman from the Zone where the question has arisen, the Association Chairman of the event and two of the President, Vice President or Secreatry-Treasurer; that is, the entire panel consist of at least four executive members but must include the Zone Chairman and the Association Chairman. Residency may be determined by driver's license address, postal address or other means at the disposal of the panel.
3.- For participants maintaining a second residence to attend school or University in another part of the Province or Country, they shall be entitled to select their place of residence for competition purposes.
4.- A participant may not compete out of more then one Club.
5.- National Policy: IN NO EVENT, SHALL A PLAYER PARTICIPATE IN EVENTS LEADING TO NATIONAL PLAYDOWNS OUT OF MORE THAN ONE PROVINCE.
6.- National Statement of Principle: The Canadian Curling Association (CCA) believe athletes who represent their Provincial / Territorial Members at CCA Curling Championships should be bona fide residents and domiciled within the Province / Territory which they are representing at the championship.
To preserve the integrity, marketability as well as regional interest in the respective championships required to promote growth and interest in the sport of curling, the CCA strongly endorses the adoption by Provincial / Territorial Associations of eligibility requirements for playdowns toward CCA Curling Championships requiring participants to be bona fide residents and domiciled within the Province / Territory sought to be represented at CCA-sanctioned Canadian Curling Championships.
